Kerry

County Kerry is located on Ireland’s south west coast in the province of Munster. Traditionally known as “The Kingdom”, Kerry is famous the world over for its spectacular scenery. The county is home to contrasting types of terrain including beautiful sandy beaches, cliffs, the Lakes of Killarney, Ireland’s highest mountain Carrantuohill and rolling hills and valleys. The Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula are unparalleled areas of mystical and scenic beauty and no trip to Kerry would be complete without visiting them.

There is so much to see and do in Kerry and the county has such an impact on visitors that most return again and again. The main county town is Tralee and is home to the Rose of Tralee festival held every August. Tralee is a busy commercial centre for the surrounding area and is an excellent base for those wishing to visit the Dingle Peninsula. Killarney is another important town in Kerry and is viewed by many as the gateway to the Ring of Kerry. Killarney has been one of the country’s top tourist destinations for many years and this is reflected in the wide range of top quality accommodation and visitor attractions in the area.

Along with the breath-taking scenery, the county offers a host of activities and traditions from angling, rock climbing and golfing to traditional Irish music sessions, native arts & crafts and festivals including Writers Week in Listowel and the Puck Fair in Killorglin.
